I've been having lessons with Gareth for almost 10 years now, and he has always been an amazing teacher​ and person. Over time he has become not just a tutor but a friend. His teaching style is excellent, he's incredibly patient and always adapts his approach to my current skill level,helping me learn new songs and develop new drumming techniques.

Most of my time has been focused on free playing rather than grades, but when I did decide to take a graded exam a few years ago,he guided me through that process brilliantly as well. Every lesson is enjoyable. He always makes me laugh and checks in to see how I'm doing before we get started.

5 years ago, I wanted to learn how to play the drums. Mum called Gareth and he was very nice and understanding and so she thought he would be the perfect person to teach me. The first time I met Gareth I thought he was funny and was always happy and the drumming lessons have always been fun because I get to learn lots o new sons, beats and fills, and there's always humor in the lesson. Although my lessons have been on line or the past 18 months, they have still been fun and I still manage to learn different beats, skills and songs every week.

I've been having lessons with Gareth every other week for almost 5 years. The lessons changed to online about 18 months ago, however it hasn't impacted my progress. Gareth uses adaptive techniques and has helped me on multiple occasions, such as when I was finding it difficult to learn a particular groove. We broke off from learning it, switching to rudiments, upon returning the groove was a walk in the park. Gareth is very observant, identifying areas to be improved and suggesting techniques to use in practice. We get along great and chat in breaks during the lesson. During lock down I was looking for a way to keep my son occupied. He tried a few instruments in the past but was always tapping. I came across Gareth's website and booked an online lesson. My 11 year old son has been coming to Gareth's drum lessons for 8 months and has made very good progress over this time. Gareth uses a good mixture of rudiments and grooves to teach the basics but keep the interest alive. When we were looking for lessons in drumming for our then 5 year old son, we were very pleased to find someone to take on the challenge. Now at aged 8 he has not become a star drummer but is slowly increasing in his skill set. Gareth has a great teaching style and my son really enjoys the lessons with him, especially teaching him new songs that he wants to learn to parts to and Gareth has never heard of!
